Privacy Policy
How rackline.ai collects, uses, and protects your information.
Effective date: May 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how rackline.ai ("rackline", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile applications on iOS and Android, our website at rackline.ai, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and the email address associated with that account.
- Photos and user content. When you score a buck, we receive the photo(s) you submit, any notes or tags you add, and the resulting score, age estimate, and growth projection data.
- Location of harvest (optional). If you choose to tag a buck with a state, county, or coordinates, we store that location with the scored buck so it can appear on the trophy heatmap and in your personal trophy room.
- Order and shipping information. If you purchase a custom plaque, mini mount, or other product, you provide a shipping address. Payment card details are entered directly with our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.
- Communications. If you email us, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact support, we keep a record of that correspondence and your email address.
b. Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data. Device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, crash logs, and basic interaction events (e.g. screens viewed, features used).
- Approximate location. We may infer approximate location (city or region) from your IP address. The app does not access precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant permission and tag a buck with a location.
- Cookies and analytics. Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics 4, to understand traffic and improve the site. See Section 7.
c. Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect government identifiers (Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers), health information, or biometric identifiers. We do not sell your personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Services.
- To run AI scoring on the photos you submit and return Boone & Crockett estimates, age predictions, and growth projections.
- To save your scored bucks to your account so you can view them in your trophy room across devices.
- To display anonymized, aggregated data on the public trophy heatmap (e.g. average score by county). Individual hunter identities are never published on the heatmap.
- To process orders, ship physical products, and provide order status updates.
- To send transactional emails (account, orders, password resets) and, if you opt in, marketing emails about new features.
- To improve our AI models, fix bugs, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain security of the Services.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:
- Service providers. Cloud hosting and database providers, AI model providers (for image analysis), payment processors (Stripe), email delivery providers, push notification providers, customer support tools, and analytics providers (including Google Analytics). These providers process information on our behalf under contracts that restrict use to providing services to us.
- Authentication providers. If you sign in with Apple or Google, those providers receive a sign-in request from us and we receive a verified identifier and email back. We do not receive your password.
- Aggregated, de-identified data. We may publish or share statistics (e.g. average score by state) that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of rackline, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If rackline is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
4. Your Choices and Rights
- Access, correction, and export. You can view and edit most of your information from inside the app. To request a copy of your data, email nate@rackline.ai.
- Account deletion. You can delete your account and all associated bucks, photos, and personal information at any time from inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or by emailing nate@rackline.ai. Deletion is permanent and we will complete it within 30 days, except for limited records we are required to retain by law (e.g. order and tax records).
- Permissions. You can revoke camera, photo library, location, and notification permissions at any time from your device's settings.
- Marketing emails. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link at the bottom of each message. We will still send transactional emails (e.g. order updates).
5. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please email nate@rackline.ai and we will delete it.
6. Data Security and Retention
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (encrypted transport, encrypted storage at rest, access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, your bucks, photos, and profile are permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days and from backups within a reasonable period thereafter.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information about your use of the website, including pages viewed and approximate location based on IP address. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
8. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to (i) know what personal information we collect, use, and share; (ii) request access to or deletion of your personal information; (iii) correct inaccurate personal information; and (iv) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under California law. To exercise your rights, email nate@rackline.ai.
9. International Users (EEA, UK, Switzerland)
rackline is based in the United States, and your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under applicable data protection law to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to data portability. Where required, we rely on your consent, performance of a contract, or our legitimate interests as the legal basis for processing. To exercise your rights, email nate@rackline.ai.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may link to third-party sites and services (for example, the App Store, Google Play, or outfitter websites featured on the trophy heatmap). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing them with information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or by a notice on our website or in the app before the change takes effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
